K's bed did not arrive for a few days so we had to improvise a bed out of suitcases. It worked.
Right down the street from our apartment is a great Turkish bakery. We went as a family the other day and had baklava and also bought a bunch of different kinds of breads. They were all delicious. Laurie was especially excited to find something very similar to tortillas.

This park is also right near our apartment.

We have enjoyed the LA sunsets at the beach. We will miss these in Turkey.

The kids had a fun day at Mother's beach last week. The warm weather has been perfect for enjoying the ocean.
K tried to eat the sand only to find that it was not as good as it looked. She is cute in her bathing suit, though!

Afterwards the boys enjoyed Ammie & Bapa's sunroof.

K lost his first tooth recently.


E enjoyed a fun day at the American Girl store with Samantha.

E was an evil fairy in her ballet recital's rendition of Sleeping Beauty.

E worked hard in speech therapy this year and got to go ice skating, including a lesson, for a reward.

H lost another tooth.

We saw this double surrey and thought it would make a fun family night since it seats 8. Even with four peddlers it was hard work, but we had a great time.

The kids (with Ammie and the cousins) helped decorate the 4th of July flag cake with blueberries and strawberries. It was delicious.
